Personal:

I'm a happily married guy with a 5 year old son. I started running on February 1st, 2010 with the goal of completing a triathlon (my one and only "official" race prior to that was the "Centerville half mile fun run" when I was about 8) In that following year I lost nearly 50 lbs, completed the triathlon, numerous 5Ks, 10Ks, bike races, and really started to lean towards running over the other two (though I still cross train with both).

I grew up hiking and riding horses in the mountains, so I've been drawn to take my running to the trails - and haven't looked back! I run them every chance I get, which is about 90% of the time!

What a weird weather day - Snow on the ground in the morning, rain, then sunshine then more rain, then a nice sunny evening - Guess we should be used to it by now.

When I saw the snow this morning I didn't think I'd even try to get a run in, but when the sun came out in the evening, I decided to hurry out and give it a shot, only to get caught by a rainstorm mid-run, finishing the run in the sun again!

7 miles on the BoSho Kaysville to Fernwood. Saw about 3 people today, as opposed to the about 50 on Saturday (or so it seemed). A little muddy in spots but overall still in decent shape considering all the rain. Not a single car parked at the Fernwood trailhead. Sat out the worst of the storm there and then started back. With about two miles or so to go I thought I'd try to beat an hour and ran them really hard and ended up hitting it right on the nose.

You're really flying through that course. I can usually only manage a pace in the 10's.

Thanks, I wasn't really trying to push it until the end, though I always try and get that first mile put away in under 10 - today was 9:59 - just barely made it! :) I think that first mile, since its mostly uphill, really sets the pace for the rest of the run.

You are always running the BoSho. I better give the Draper one a try since it is by my house. Good that you got out yesterday. I stayed indoors and ate all day!

Yep - it's a good trail, and you can usually find some portion of it all along the Wasatch! The Kaysville one is about 2 miles from my house, so that makes it handy, and the Draper section is near work. We usually start that one from Willow Park (?) in Sandy and run south. You can do a good 6+ miler going to the Corner Canyon road parking area (3.1 out and back) with a good little climb in the middle, or you can keep going (as we usually do)and hook up with the plethora of Corner Canyon trails.
