Personal:

I'm a happily married guy with a 5 year old son. I started running on February 1st, 2010 with the goal of completing a triathlon (my one and only "official" race prior to that was the "Centerville half mile fun run" when I was about 8) In that following year I lost nearly 50 lbs, completed the triathlon, numerous 5Ks, 10Ks, bike races, and really started to lean towards running over the other two (though I still cross train with both).

I grew up hiking and riding horses in the mountains, so I've been drawn to take my running to the trails - and haven't looked back! I run them every chance I get, which is about 90% of the time!

Met Jun this morning for a Saturday run, and while we weren't certain how far we were planning on going, when we were sitting in the car at the trail head we didn't feel like going far! We finally got ourselves out and moving, and I deliberately set us up with a VERY casual pace, and was happy to see that Craig was just fine with it. We motored up (casually) the climb and got to the '10K' turnaround point and didn't even stop - just kept on going. Went up Canyon Hollow and then dropped down and across and up the Ghost falls trail. Took a brief stop at the top - just long enough to become completely frozen - and then we started our way down Corner Canyon road. I was so cold all I could think about was the heated seats waiting for me in my car when we got back. Finally though, we ended up getting into a little sunshine which helped immensely. Cruised our way back to where we started, finishing up a beautifully casual run on a gorgeous day. Great way to start the morning!

 10.6 miles - 1:56:48 - 11:01 AP (Oh yeah!:)) - 1451 vert

Once I got home I spent the afternoon cutting up trees and loading them into a wood chipper! Our neighbor rented one and we just went around the block trying to get as many of the blown over trees chipped up as we could!

Where is this trail? It sounds pretty awesome if it weren't for the coldness.

Our neighborhood was wrecked by the wind too, but we managed to escape unscathed, well, minus one grill which was blown off the deck.

The trail is the Draper Bonneville Shoreline Trail that starts at Hidden Valley park on Wasatch dr. We ran that to Corner Canyon, up the So Ghost Falls Trail then down the dirt road and back on the BST.

Yeah, if you ever run down south there is a huge network of trails in Corner Canyon (just above the Draper temple) that you could literally run all day on without running the same stuff twice. We often start on the BST in Sandy and run the 3 or so miles South to Corner Canyon and then pick a route from there.

I slept in. Nice work getting it done in the cold.
