Personal:

I'm a happily married guy with a 5 year old son. I started running on February 1st, 2010 with the goal of completing a triathlon (my one and only "official" race prior to that was the "Centerville half mile fun run" when I was about 8) In that following year I lost nearly 50 lbs, completed the triathlon, numerous 5Ks, 10Ks, bike races, and really started to lean towards running over the other two (though I still cross train with both).

I grew up hiking and riding horses in the mountains, so I've been drawn to take my running to the trails - and haven't looked back! I run them every chance I get, which is about 90% of the time!

Lower Dimple Dell trail from Jordan Commons with Jun. Felt a little sluggish after a couple days off, but still came out of it with a decent pace.

I didn't know that Dimple Dell went all the way down by Jordan Commons. Is the Dimple Dell trail safe to run for girls by themselves? How many people are on the trail when you run?

If you go from the east parking lot of Jordan Commons and head south, there's a paved trail that runs next to the Trax line for a bit, then you cross the next road and continue on the paved part through the park, then you skirt around the dog park and that dumps you down into the gully trail. The lower section is a little less exposed and is pretty cool. The upper section you have a lot of options, we usually run the trail that is on the north (upper) side, kind of up on the ridge (not down in the valley). Someone else can comment, but I think you'd be fine running it, we see quite a few people out, and that upper section runs right along peoples backyards for most of the way. If you look at mine or Juns Garmin links(I think once you link to one you can scroll through different runs) you can kind of see the routes we take. Here was this shorter route: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/84829813 - often we'll start at the park (rather than at the commons) and run all the way up to the reservoir - that gives almost a perfect half marathon. :)
